Back in action?

Post  Rhino on Mon Jan 04, 2010 9:28 am

Based on Yesterday's semi-spontaneous events I have updated the timeline.

So, it seems we are almost ready for full IG IC appearance of everyone. Smile

As for Diana, she called her old Tempest friends and allies and asked them for help. She herself decided to put on the costume again to clean her old "mess", as she sees it.

Back in Action?

Post  Romanov on Thu Jan 07, 2010 2:13 pm

Hey all,

I'm thinking of resubbing to Champions for a month to give it another try. Does the in game rp run with the Thursday night rp? And how often are you guys in game and do you play as a team when you do?

On Thursdays, that's Star Trek Hero. Saturday evenings are about Champions on MapTool.

I've noticed we tend to be relatively more active on sundays->tuesdays.
Also, since the game is still quite a novelty, there was quite a time when we all enjoyed leveling-up and trying powers (save Marvel/Cheetah who already max'ed two characters).
Other than that, there is still a separation between MapTool gaming and CO IC gaming considering events are not happening in the same timeframe for now.

We're coming back to a more "usual" way to game now with storylines tied to missions and backgrounds. The "lairs" (extensive bases/cave network with a strong theme) are god for action-RP.
We also had our "clubbing" moments recently.

Not really linked to topic but linked on what Diurne said, I think leveling up novelty will take longer time to die off than in other MMOs simply because of the fact you can make odd (and surprisingly efficient) power combos with characters.
for instance Angie is mixed Power Armor/Claws/Gadgets/ Energy, Diana is Archery/Gadgets/Munitions/Celestial, Iris is Primal Sorcery/Gadgets/Power Armor, Mark is Celestial/Power Armor and Andreas is Might/Martial Arts... all have powersets that overlap, but every single of them has unique gameplay and power combinations outside one powerset that work nicely. So just that fact that mixing one power you already have on one character with some power you never used before gives you interesting playing results means that novelty will subside much slower. When they add more content (and maybe even more powersets) the game may have great replayability value. But they truly need more content like another starting crisis (possibly something in the city and obviously low level missions inside of it after it) and more instanced locations.

Sorry, going off topic. Are you playing on Maptool tonight?
