  • Augury

The red-blonde haired young woman kept supporting the crimefighting in Paragon City. While not completely understanding -why- she was asked to be present on crime scenes and during battles against villainy, she didn't dare to refuse the favor.
In 1997, a charity organization approached her to ask if she could fund the group. Augury replied with a comment made later famous "Listen, I'm going to play Megamillions and if I win, I give you half the money."
Augury bet on Megamillions and won the prize record of 224 millions $US. And she effectively gave 112 millions $US to the fundation.

This event started a legal case against Augury, with the New Jersey Lottery as a plaintiff, who argued having Elizabeth McPherson betting on the lottery was similar to a fraud since it tweaked the probabilities so heavily in her favor that the whole lottery concept was made irrelevant and it negated the chances of anyone else to win.
In 1999, the tribunal dismissed the plaintiff on the basis that "being lucky doesn't constitute a crime and cannot be used to demonstrate an ill intent to cheat".
The company then offered to Elizabeth McPherson to become the Megamillions show host and master of ceremonies.

Augury is since a regular figure of the TV lottery universe and finally politely refused request to keep being present on crime fighting scenes at request.
She kept (half) the money won, which added to her already decent personnal wealth. She didn't seem to understand when her lawyers told her working for Megamillions was actually the trick since employees are forbidden to bet on the game.

Her friendly face and her opening line "Do you feel lucky today ?" since became as famous as her regular apparitions on the show, dressed in various costumes (pirate, astronaut, firefighter, doctor, policewoman, ... and, the most common, a sexy "ninja" outfit).
Since 2004, she can also be seen on a TV advertisement for Megamillions where she is shown preparing to host the game, in her lodge and the tag line is "She works for us. She cannot bet. NOW -you- have a chance to win"

  • Lithium

After years of ghost and demon busting in Paragon City, the techno-mystic known as Lithium went to Vibora Bay on the Florida coast where she was trained by Dr Ka to refine her abilities and achieve a blend of magic and technology.
In 2005, after ten years of studies and in partnership with PRIMUS, she improved her own equipment and gave to PRIMUS the blueprints of a heavier suit, destined to be field tested in the years to come.
She is still active in the heroic community despite no longer being on the field. She is working on the creation of a communication network and database called HERMES (Heuristically Engineered References and Mesh-Equivalent System) to connect mystic driven good-doers, be they old fashioned with broomstick and candles or urban mage saving ritual details on USB drives.

  • Stormrise

Sex, drugs and skydiving. Kacey Fairbanks was never listening when told to be cautious. After wandering all over the globe during years, she finally took one challenge and decided to live it to the maximum : fighting supervillains.
After trying scuba, free fall, climbing volcanoes, jet ski, surival treks, combat sports, etc, all mixed with generous quantities of booze, weed and sex, she saw that only the thrill of the fight against superpowered dangers was enticing her.
She grudgindly accepted to follow a bit more the rules about crimefighting and became a regular of battles against villainy. Many were worried she would meet her final fate when facing the major world superthreats, since she was the kind to charge alone and think after.
Actually, they were all wrong. Kacey died of a drug overdose during a night party on a Californian beach in 1997..
It is said few were crying over her at the funeral.
