To boldy go where noone has gone before

Stardate 80689: The USS Independence starts her 5 year mission. Its destination: the galactic fringe.

Workers gamble

The Independence is involved into a worker strike on an agricultural planet after being called to help by human colonists. The strike will be unresolved and the workers secede in a semi-autnomous political entity. However, the Independence gets the food supply be delivered on time.

Frozen mystery

While investigating on the mysterious planet Hrotha, Lieutenants Codanadal and O'Rourke shuttle is shot down. Captain Eks managed to get them both transported on another shuttle despite the technical difficulties due to a heavily radioactive atmosphere. Hrotha, which looked to have suffered from a disaster, has a leaking atmosphere and where a retired Starfleet captain may have disappeared, will keep its mystery as the Independence leaves the system.

Smoke and Mirrors ?

The official meeting with the Dracartan, a specie met during the food strike problem, gets an unexpected turn as Lt Anra Vaden, the ship councilor, says she recognize Gul Dargan in the figure of Aten, the Cardassian Deputy of Security of the Dracartan Empire (ongoing)

Home, sweet home.

Stardate 86007: USS Independence concluded her 5 year mission. Fleet Admiral Larsen of Starfleet Command gives orders to let the USS Independence undergo refits at the San Francisco Fleetyards orbiting Earth. Experienced crew and officers are needed throughout the entire fleet, therefore most of the Independence crew are reassigned abord other starships. Captain Eks and some other officers are allowed to go on semi-vacation (which means they are on standby if Starfleet needs them).

February:
To Adventure!

Stardate 86100: Captain Eks and Lieutenant Idisha are idle on Risa. Lt. Cmdr. Seth Drake approaches the Captain and hands him out new orders from Starfleet Command. Captain Eks is ordered to take command of the USS La Jolla and head together with the USS Spartan and USS Durandal to the Igama System.
Stardate 86101,2: The Task Force approaches the Igama System and discover that the system is heavily guarded by Klingons. The Task Force seizes control of the system after a battle against a Klingon controlled Doomsday device.

Chauffeur Duty.

The task force transport Trill scientist Khan from Starbase 112 to Starbase 39-Sierra.

Drake equals not Drake.

Stardate 86101,7: Lt. Cmdr. Doug, CO of the the USS Atlantis, joins the Task Force in a mission to capture Starfleet Intelligence Officer Franklin Drake, who's about to defect to the Romulan Star Empire and can give sensitive information to them. The Task Force is forced to trespass Romulan Territory to capture the traitor ultimately. The Romulans view this as an act of war.

Regeneration

Stardate 86117.1: After more than 3 decades have the Borg returned to the Alpha Quadrant. An invasion fleet attacked the Vega System and Starfleet has mustered all available forces to repel the Borg. The USS Caliburn lost their commanding officer and Lieutenant Robert MacDougal has taken command of her and lead the Caliburn through the crisis until the Borg have been destroyed or retreated.
Starfleet Command decided to let Lieutenant MacDougal remain as acting commanding officer of the Caliburn.
Captain Eks and Lieutenant MacDougal share a drink in Club 47 at Starbase 1 and talk about officer candidates for the undermanned Caliburn. Doctor Zhen, Nurse Church, engineer Mobren and navigator Codanadal are suggested candidates.

Independence Fleet

Stardate 86123.3: The Independence Fleet has been formed. Captain Eks has been ordered to assemble a fleet and chose following commanding officers and their respective ships to be member of the Fleet: Captains Drake, Doug, MacDougal and O'Rourke. Lieutenant Idisha has witnessed this moment.

Evacuation

Stardate 86130.4: Starbase 24 has been the target of a Klingon Assault Fleet. Federation ships gathered and engaged the Klingons to break their assault front and make it possible to evacuate the Starbase. Captains Eks and MacDougal were part of this engagement and reached the station first and had to subdue Klingon troops abord the Starbase. Starbase 24's personal has been beamed off the station and transferred to hospital ships which left then the battle zone together with the rest of Federation ships.

Peace is better for business

Stardate 86131.5: The USS Shi'Kahr was conducting research in the Celes Nebula as they got attacked by Nausicaan pirates. USS Caliburn and USS Toledo arrived in that system, stabilized the USS Shi'Kahr and continued the research of that Nebula with the help of USS Shi'Kahr's scientists. A skirmish with Nausicaan Pirates occured before the two ships departed to Starbase 112 to bring back the scientists.
Arriving at Starbase 112 they learn that weapons capable kimocite has been stolen from that base. The two ships of the Independence Fleet investigate it and learned that a Ferengi smuggler stolen it to sell it to Nausicaans. After a pursuit, a renewed space fight and a groundfight inside the pirate's lair base has been the kimocite retrieved and the responsible Ferengi smuggler got arrested.

Liberation

Stardate 86131.5: Captain Seth Drake, in the captain’s chair of his new ship USS Gurkha, was called to a crisis on the DS9 station which had been overcome by the Undine. The Gurka joined forces with the USS Harbinger under the command of the Trill Captain Temor. The station was barricaded by numerous Cardassian and Jem’Hadar vessels. After battling through, Captain Drake led an away team, including Captain Temor, Commander Sun Bakk and Commander Six of Nine, onto the station.
The away team had to subdue Cardassian, Jem’Hadar and even Star Fleet personnel believed to be under control of the Undine. Finally, they were able to link up with the few unaffected Star Fleet officers and secure the station before the Undine could destroy it. Several Undine joined the fight but were thwarted by the away team and DS9 personnel
Captain Drake was thanked personally by the captain of DS9 who said it would have been destroyed if not for his timely and effective actions.

Affray

Stardate 86144.7: The Xarantine System has been target of numerous Klingon and Gorn raids. USS Paradigm, USS Morning Star and USS Telford have been assigned to patrol that system and help all ships in need. First ship in need was the SS Boyce, a freighter who was unable to defend itself from multiple Gorn raiders. The 3 Starfleet ships swiftly forced the Gorns to retreat or were destroyed otherwise.
Next in line was the Vulcan medical starship T'Pau. It was in need of escort to make a timely arrivel on Xarantine III, because a Vulcan disease is spreading fast among its citizen. The Klingons tried in vain to block that transport. Arriving Orbit of Xarantine III were the Captains of the ships asked to free the medical facilities in that outpost and did so. Doctor Zhen afterwards beamed down to help dispense the cure while Lieutenant Drezden Lux stayed further to analyse the disease.
Some hours passed since arriving orbit Xarantine III as another distress call came in, this time from the USS Eagle in the Trimble System. The Fleet headed there and repelled the Klingons from taking over the Eagle.

March
Spooking

Stardate 86161.7: The USS Paradigm has been ordered to escort the science vessel USS Valmy in the Great Bloom system, which was taking measurements of thalaron emissions.
After a fight with romulans has a drifting Federation ship been found in the Bassen rift, but no lifesigns could be detected. It turned out that they have been killed by extra-realm beings. Lieutenant Idisha found a way to seal their entrance points.
The unmanned drifting federation ship has been towed to Starbase 39.

Shakedown cruise

Stardate 86167.4: In record time have the workers of the San Fransisco Fleetyards refitted the USS Independence. Fleet Admiral Larsen ordered Captain Eks and his officers to board her immediatly and conduct a shakedown cruise to test the new systems. The Independence headed to the Eridan Belt as it appeared to be an ideal place for system testings.
Not long after they've arrived in that region decloacked a strike group of Klingons and opened fire on the Independence. This unexpected encounter pulled the weapons, targetting sensors and shield system tests forward and the Independence demonstrated her functionality by destroying numerous ships.
The normal test of the systems continued and during the calibration of the sensors has Lieutenant Idisha found odd readings from a nearby class M planet. Eks and Idisha beamed down and found out that appeared to be a conscious carnivore plant and being somehow able to communicate with other plants. Unfortunately was time too short to find out exactly how as a call for help arrived then the Independence.
A colony reported of mysterious energy beings and how they surrounded that colony. Arriving at that colony beamed again an away team down to investigate it. Lieutenant Idisha collected enough data how to keep these energy beings off from their colony and reported so to the locals.

Union

Stardate 86167.5: After a relentless campaign against the True Way and Klingons, Captain Seth Drake is given some leave from the USS Gurkha. It coincides with the wedding of his mentor-figure Admiral Miles Mendoza to Dr Marial Suter. Drake attends the traditional ceremony at Lake Cataria on Betazed with his chief medical officer and Marial’s daughter Commander Kari Suter.
During this time, Mendoza found time for a long chat with Drake. They spoke about Drake’s achievements and briefly about Mendoza’s new role and promotion to admiral at Sol Station. The conversation turned to how many Starfleet captains, including their mutual hero James T Kirk, had regretted giving up the captain’s chair aboard a starship for promotion. Drake suspected there was more to what Mendoza was saying but the happy couple had to depart for their honeymoon on Risa.

Advancement

Stardate 86168.4: Captain Seth Drake returns to Sol Station to rendezvous with the USS Gurkha back from an exploration mission to the Hromi Cluster under the command of first officer Commander Sun Bakk.
Drake was called into a high level meeting of admirals, including Admiral Miles Mendoza, aboard the station. There he was told he was to be promoted to admiral and be part of the strategic planning to defend the Federation against the Borg onslaught. Drake, with respect, argued that he would be of greater use to the Federation captaining a starship on the frontline. Admiral Mendoza supported Drake and offered a compromise - that Drake would take command of the USS Claymore, one of Starfleet's most advanced escorts, which had been in space dock following Mendoza’s promotion to admiral.
Agreeing to put any promotion on hold, the compromise was accepted and the crew of the USS Gurkha transferred to the USS Claymore awaiting orders to engage the Borg.

Purification

Stardate 86171.8: The USS Claymore and USS Independence were ordered to deliver water purification systems to Goralis III, the first colony outside of Cardassia where the rare Meya Lilies are being bred.
A pair of Cardassian galor class cruisers expected the arrival of them and escorted them to Goralis III. They suddenly ambushed the ships of the Independence Fleet by the moment they beamed down the supply deliveries, but the combined tactical prowess of both Captains turned the battle quickly to their favour.
An away team evaluated the situation on Goralis III and they learned that a cell of the terrorist group known as True Way under the lead of Gul Graspir blackmailed the director of the colony and corrupted that colony. Captains Eks and Drake personally purged the colony from the True Way who were hiding in a cave.
In a last ditch attempt to regain control has the True Way cell held the director as hostage. He got rescued by the two Starfleet Captains.
After this helped engineering teams with the installation of the water purifiers.

Burn, baby burn

Stardate 86172.3: Main peace activist between Bajor and Cardassia, Cerin Teresa, was on a pilgrimage to Bajor as her ship got disabled by True Way terrorists. The USS Independence and Claymore were ordered to transport her to Bajor after rescuing her from her disabled shuttle.
An away team consisting of Captains Eks, Drake, Commanders Brex, Bakk and Suter and the pilgrims beamed down to Bajor. Once there revealed Cerin Teresa her true nature and her affiliation with the Pah-Wraiths and she was planning to release them with a ritual. The Starfleet officers crossed her plans by eliminating Cerin Teresa eventually.

Worming

Stardate 86183.8: Deep Space Nine has received a Distress signal from the presumed lost Federation vessel USS Rapier. Origin: The bajoran Wormhole. So it happened that the USS Independence in escort with the USS Gallileo entered the wormhole and discovered anomalous traces originating from Jem'Hadar attack ships who tried in vain to stop the rescue ships. Almost at the other side of the wormhole opening do they find the USS Rapier, which had been boarded by Jem'Hadar troops. An away team consisting of Eks, Idisha, Rajakanya, Seyler and Aquero beam abord it and clean the ship from the boarding party and rescue the crew of the Rapier. Once secured orders Captain Eks his away team to stay abord the vessel and lead it back to the Alpha Quadrant; its pilot: Lieutenant Idisha. On route back spawn again numerous Jem'Hadar ships who attack the Federation vessels and some of them even followed them back to Deep Space 9, where they got quickly destroyed.

June
Realm of Possibilities

Stardate 86451.8: After months of battles at the Klingon boarder have been parts of the Independence Fleet been temporarily dispatched to Deep Space Nine. The crews welcomed the R&R while the ships themself are being repaired and resupplied.
Captain Eks accompanied by Lieutenant Idisha and Captain MacDougal were walking in the station as they witness that hostile people disguised as Starfleet personal opened fire on them. The trio managed to defend themself but were unable to communicate with anybody outside. They found out that these intruders have planted plasma bombs, which have been all defused by MacDougal. Once cleared returned the officers to their ships.
Hostile ships were approaching DS9, all qualifying as Starfleet ships, except their registry prefix: ISS - a characteristic of Mirror Universe ships. The USS Independence, Galileo and Morning Star drove the enemy back to Bajor VII, where a base of operation has been established by them.
After a short space battle and a following ground battle in the base learned our heroes that a man, James O'Brien, is trying to alter the wormhole to open a gate to his reality in order to launch a fullscale invasion. O'brien managed it to retreat back to his ship, the ISS Molly, and headed directly to the wormhole. The fleet followed him and destroyed his ships and foiled his plan.
The Independence Fleet went into the bajoran wormhole to determine if any harm has been done to the wormhole as suddenly Captains Eks, MacDougal and Lieutenant Idisha find themself in a surreal place: the celestial temple. A prophet gives them instruction what to do next in order to establish balance again.
